Summer Grad Session w/ Family + Friends

Summer is my all-time favourite time of year for grad photos at University of Guelph, no other season even comes close. Not only does campus shine with gorgeous green plants & perfect lighting, but there’s also very few students photobombing our graduation portraits! This makes for a wonderful experience for grads to get their portraits done, and it allows your photos to stand out from the countless spring + fall photos that a lot of students get.

Madeleine wanted photos that were bright with vibrant colours and lighting so we made sure to schedule this session for golden hour in mid-July when U of G’s campus was at it’s most aesthetic.

As a former UofG alumni, I know this campus like the back of my hand and ensure I take my grads to all of the unique places on campus, not just the popular graduation photo spots. It’s important to me to create work that is beautiful and timeless since some of these photos will likely be printed and hung on parents and grandparents wall for decades.

Speaking of parents, Madeleine opted for a mini-shoot as well with her parents, sister, & partner as she wanted to document this pivotal milestone with the most important people in her life. She also brought along her best friends from university to get so much variety in a single shoot that I had a really tough time choosing my favourite photos to share in this blog post! Mini-sessions are a great way to get some professional family photos or couples photos without the need of a separate photoshoot.

I feel the photos we captured at this grad photo session are some of my favourite images I’ve created at a grad shoot.

Below you’ll see some of my favourite images from this graduation photo session.
